Object Name Sword and Scabbard
Description Sword and scabbard, non-regulations, officer's style. Used in the Civil War. Etched panel on both sides of the blade near the hilt . Gold wash and blue floral designs. Remainder of the blade is bright steel. The hilt is brass, decorated with floral designs. Grip is leather-covered, wire-wrapped wood. The scabbard is made of leather, the throat and middle band of brass with carrying ring. Trag tip - brass. Engraved inscription. "Presented to Col. I.S. Burrell 42 Reg Ms Inf. Nov 1862 by the Officers of his Regiment"
